Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Eurasian Center for Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Education and Health Care and the Agency for Supervision of Education and Science under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of the Republic of Tajikistan.

This provides great opportunities for joint activities in the field of Quality Assurance of Higher, Postgraduate Education and Continuing Professional Development in the field of Health Care, aimed at improving the training of nurses, physicians, pharmacists and health care managers of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Saule Sarsenbayeva, the Director General of ECAQA, participated in the webinar "INQAAHE Talks on Quality Assurance and the Sustainability Agenda," which took place on March 28, 2024. The event program included presentations by speakers representing QAAs and educational organizations from France (CTi), Taiwan (Higher Education Evaluation & Accreditation Council of Taiwan), Andorra (ACPUA), and Malaysia (MQA). Sustainable development goals are aimed at improving well-being and protecting our planet. There are a total of 17 goals, with the 4th dedicated to "Ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all." In this context, it was interesting to learn about the changes that accreditation bodies of different educational systems around the world have made to their accreditation standards and collaboration with higher education institutions.

From February 26 to 29, 2024, as part of the specialized accreditation process, an external expert assessment of the educational program in "Doctor of Medicine" at the Nazarbayev University School of Medicine was conducted.

Saule Sarsenbayeva, the Director General of ECAQA, participated in the CEENQA bi-monthly meeting held on March 20, 2024.

The online meeting agenda included a presentation of the program of the CEENQA General Assembly in Baku (Azerbaijan). Anna Gover then presented the IMINQA project report. Natalia Stukalo, Vice President of NAQA (Ukraine), discussed the development and changes in the education quality assurance system in Ukraine.

Dr. Maike Adam from HAKA/Estonian Quality Agency shared insights on the qualifications framework as a tool for ensuring the quality of teaching and learning. ECAQA has been a full member of CEENQA since 2018.

On February 22, 2024 the ECAQA participated in the round table “The cross-border accreditation” which initiated by WFME. WFME President Ricardo León-Bórquez took part in the roundtable discussion. This is a new activity for ECAQA and very important in context of OA of Higher medical education.

Saule Sarsenbayeva, GD of the ECAQA reported on accreditation of educational programmes in Uzbekistan. ECAQA has received recognition of the WFME in the territory of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan until 2032 and is currently conducting preparatory activities for specialized and institutional accreditation of 8 educational institutions in Uzbekistan.

A discussion was held and representatives of agencies asked questions about approaches to establishing relationships with authorized bodies of foreign countries, announcement of accreditation results, formation of expert commissions and others.

It was a good platform to exchange the best practices of different QA agencies.

"On January 29, 2024, the Eurasian Center for Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Health Care participated in the Forum "Quality Assurance in Higher Education: Current State and Development Prospects," organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Forum program included 3 sections on the following topics: "Tuning of the internal quality assurance system of higher and postgraduate education institutions, Improvement of the training of scientific personnel, Improvement of the system of state regulation of higher and postgraduate education."

The agenda featured a working meeting "New Approaches to Control Measures."

The plenary session was opened by Minister Sayasat Nurbek. Over 20 reports were presented, addressing important issues such as the national ranking of universities, the internal quality assurance system of education in the context of artificial intelligence development, regulation of higher and postgraduate education, and others.

The event was attended by top executives, vice-rectors, university professors, and representatives of accreditation bodies. Stefan Levic, President of EQAR, delivered a presentation on "Ensuring the Quality of Higher Education - Common Problems and Approaches."
