From 3 to 5 November 2025, a site visit was conducted to the Tashkent State Medical University (TSMU) by the international accreditation expert commission of the ECAQA within the framework of the evaluation of Master’s degree programmes in eight specialties for compliance with the ECAQA Accreditation Standards for Postgraduate Medical Education, developed on the basis of the updated 2023 WFME Global Standards for Quality Improvement in Postgraduate Medical Education.

The Commission was chaired by E.M Turgunov, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Surgical Diseases, Karaganda Medical University, President of the Surgical Association of the Karaganda Region, Member of the International Society of Surgery, and Member of the Association of Independent Experts of Astana.

The international expert was Milena Staneva, PhD, Honorary Professor of the Faculty of Medicine, Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, Expert and Member of the Standing Committee on Health and Sport of the National Evaluation and Accreditation Agency (NEAA) of Bulgaria, Chief Coordinator of the Expert Council of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Bulgaria, and Head of the Department of Angiology at Acibadem City Clinic University Tokuda Hospital, Sofia, Bulgaria. The Commission also included academic experts from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, as well as resident and employer experts.
