A site visit of the international External Expert Commission was conducted under the chairmanship of Morenko M.A., Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Pediatric Diseases No. 1 of the NJSC “Astana Medical University”, Chief Pediatric Allergologist–Immunologist of the Public Health Department of Astana, Member of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, and Member of the Eurasian Association of Pediatricians and Neonatologists.
The visit also involved international experts, including Yavor Petkov Enchev, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor of Neurosurgery, Head of the Department of Neurosurgery and ENT Diseases of the Medical University of Varna, Head of the Neurosurgery Clinic of “St. Marina” University Hospital of the Medical University of Varna (Varna, Bulgaria), Vice President of the Bulgarian Society of Neurosurgeons (BSNS), President of the Bulgarian Society of Pediatric Neurosurgery (BSPNS); as well as Akhvlediani L.T., Professor, MD, PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Professor of the International University BAU Batumi, Georgia. Associate Professor at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University.
The External Expert Commission was formed in accordance with the WFME Guidelines and included representatives of the academic community, a resident expert, a doctoral student expert, and employer representatives. The Corporate Fund “University Medical Center” is undergoing re-accreditation for compliance with the accreditation standards for postgraduate (residency) education programmes developed by the Eurasian Centre for Accreditation based on the 2023 WFME Global Standards for Quality Improvement: Postgraduate Medical Education (Residency). The PhD Programme in Medicine is undergoing initial accreditation. The programme of the external evaluation includes meetings with senior management, faculty members and supervisors, interviews with residents and teaching staff, representatives of practical healthcare, observation of seminars, review of resources for residency and doctoral programmes, stakeholder surveys, meetings with employers, and examination of documentation.
