ENQA’ AFFILIATE STATUS OF THE EURASIAN СENTRE FOR ACCREDITATION AND QUALITY ASSURANCE IN HIGHER EDUCATION AND HEALTH CARE (ECAQA)

The Board of European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) has granted the Eurasian Сentre for Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Health Care (ECAQA) Affiliate status of ENQA since October 25, 2017.

THE EUROPEAN ASSOCIATION FOR QUALITY ASSURANCE IN HIGHER EDUCATION (ENQA)

Following the Recommendation of the Council (98/561/EC of 24 September 1998) on European co-operation in quality assurance in higher education and the Bologna Declaration of 1999, ENQA was established in 2000 as the European Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education to promote European co-operation in the field of quality assurance.

In 2004 the Network was transformed into the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA).

ENQA promotes European co-operation in the field of quality assurance in higher education and disseminating information and expertise among its members and towards stakeholders in order to develop and share good practice and to foster the European dimension of quality assurance.

Membership is open to European quality assurance bodies in the field of higher education that are conducting quality assurance activities as understood in the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG) and act in compliance with the membership criteria. Membership is granted at the discretion of the Board and endorsed by the General Assembly.

As indicated in the ENQA statutes approved by the General Assembly in 2015, it is a condition of membership that all members of ENQA undergo an external review at least once every five years. Before being accepted or being re-confirmed as a member, an applicant agency must satisfy to the Board that it meets the criteria for membership: the European Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG).
