The External Expert Commission visited JSC “A.N. Syzganov National Scientific Centre of Surgery” on 15–17 April 2026 to assess its compliance with the standards for institutional accreditation of organisations providing postgraduate and continuing education, as well as the standards for accreditation of postgraduate medical education (residency), developed on the basis of the updated 2024 International Standards of WFME and harmonised with the ESG.

The international commission, chaired by N.A. Kabildina, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Professor, oncological surgeon, and Head of the Department of oncology and radiology at NJSC “Medical University of Karaganda”, included an international expert – D.A. Borsuk, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Surgery at the South Ural State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, delegate of Russia to the International Union of Phlebology, and member of the editorial board of the Journal of Vascular Surgery: Venous and Lymphatic Disorders.

The expert commission also included academic staff from medical universities of Kazakhstan, a resident representative, and a representative of practical healthcare.
