The National Center for Expertise of Medicines and Medical Devices is undergoing re-accreditation by the ECAQA. The international expert commission was chaired by E.A. Slavko, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor, Professor at the Department of Internal Medicine of the Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University, and Chief Hepatologist of the Almaty City Public Health Department.

The external expert commission (EEC) was chaired by L.D. Alibekova, Deputy Director for Academic and Educational Affairs at the Higher Medical College, a state коммунal enterprise with the right of economic management under the Almaty City Public Health Department, and holder of a Master of Public Health degree, Republic of Kazakhstan.

Eurasian Center for Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Healthcare (ECAQA) is included in the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR) by the decision of the EQAR Register Committee dated 11.10.2024.

Accreditation agencies included in EQAR can operate throughout the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). ECAQA's inclusion in EQAR demonstrates the full compliance of the ECAQA's activities with the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in Higher Education in the EHEA ESG 2015 and allows for the publication of accreditation decisions and the posting of reports of external expert commissions for the evaluation of educational institutions and educational programs in The Database of External Quality Assurance Results (DEQAR). DEQAR data helps to support EHEA commitments and can be used by Higher Education Institutions to obtain digital credentials through the European Commission's Europass and European Blockchain Service Infrastructure (EBSI).

ECAQA Director General Saule Sarsenbayeva participated in the 23rd International Congress/Forum on Quality Assessment in Research and Higher Education (FECIES), delivering a presentation titled “Quality Matters: From Accreditation to Outcomes in Medical Education in Kazakhstan.”

The event was held virtually from June 17–19, 2026, offering academics and researchers a global platform to share findings in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, with accepted papers eligible for publication in Q1 academic books.

The 2026 forum featured international experts, such as Amanda Grace Taylor (Senior Director at ABET) and Milica Kavedzic (Deputy Director at ACQAHE), who discussed global trends in quality assurance.
