Professional development training for experts on accreditation of medical and pharmaceutical education.
From June 9 to July 3, 2020, The Eurasian Centre for Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Health Care (ECAQA) conducted an online professional development training for experts on accreditation of medical and pharmaceutical education. The duration of the professional development cycle on "Professional training of experts in accreditation of basic and postgraduate medical and pharmaceutical education" was 54 academic hours, which was followed by certificate issuance. 23 people attended the online training: employees of medical universities, scientific centres and institutes of the Republic of Kazakhstan. All videos of the online sessions are uploaded to the ECAQA YouTube channel that provides access to the training participants.
The following issues are included in the training programme: International and National Context and Prospects for Accreditation; Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG 2015); WFME Global Standards for Quality Improvement 2015 – BME, PGME; Accreditation of Basic Medical Education; Standards for Institutional Accreditation and specification of Standards and their interpretation during self-evaluation; Approaches to the examination of an Institutional Self-Evaluation Report, preparation of reviews; The procedure for external evaluation of educational organisations: planning an on-site visit, assigning roles to members of an External Evaluation Commission, organising the on-site visit, building questions for interviews with stakeholders, developing recommendations for improvement, developing recommendations for the Accreditation Council; The role and involvement of students in the accreditation process; Acquaintance with the WFME Global Standards for Quality Improvement in BME 2020 draft version.

In March 2020, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between The Eurasian Centre for Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Education and Healthcare (ECAQA), Republic of Kazakhstan, and The National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education and Research (ANACEC), Republic of Moldova. http://www.anacip.md/index.php/en/home-en-gb/missions
The areas of Understanding include:1. Exchange of experience in external evaluation and accreditation of educational organisations and educational programmes;
2. Nomination of accreditation experts for the External Evaluation Commissions on accreditation;
3. Joint activities on the quality assurance of education and accreditation;
4. Preparation of joint publications on accreditation in education;
5. Participation in events, which are organised by the partner.
The ANACEC is an administrative authority that is subordinate to the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research of the Republic of Moldova.
The ACACEC’s mission is to implement the state policy on quality assurance of all levels of education and research, which is focused on the best international practices and quality standards contributing to greater economic competitiveness and social cohesion in the Republic of Moldova.
The aim of ANACEC is to ensure an integrated, reliable, objective and transparent system of external evaluation and accreditation of educational institutions and educational programmes, external evaluation of organizations in the field of research and innovation, evaluation of scientific and scientific-didactic staff, control of the quality of all levels of education, including vocational education, higher and continuing education in the Republic of Moldova.

THE EURASIAN CENTRE FOR ACCREDITATION AND QUALITY ASSURANCE IN HIGHER EDUCATION AND HEALTH CARE (ECAQA) HAS RECEIVED INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION AND HAS BEEN INCLUDED IN THE ASIA-PACIFIC QUALITY REGISTER (APQR)
The external evaluation of the ECAQA was conducted for the compliance with 11 Chiba Principles and the requirements of the Asia-Pacific Quality Register (APQR).
The international team of experts expressed a high opinion of the system of external and internal quality assurance of ECAQA’s operations, which contribute to the harmonization and internationalization of higher education and research in the Central Asia.
By the decision of the APQR Council, the Eurasian Centre for Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Health Care received international recognition and was included in the APQR in December 2019.

APQR Certificate – ECAQA
The Asia-Pacific Quality Register (APQR) was established in 2012 by decision of the General Assembly of the Asia-Pacific Quality Network (APQN) https://www.apqr.co/
The APQR is the register of organizations (agencies, centres, associations) for quality assurance and accreditation in the Asia-Pacific.
An independent external evaluation of an accreditation agency for compliance with the Chiba Principles is carried out by an international expert group and includes an analysis of the Self-Evaluation Report, an on-site visit to the accreditation agency, preparation of a Final Report on the results of the external evaluation and the APQR Council’s decision-making.
Inclusion in the APQR is an indicator of the high quality of the accreditation process that is carried out by an accreditation agency.
The accreditation agencies which are included in the APQR demonstrate the transparency of key activities, sustainable development and the desire to improve in the area of quality assurance of education.
The accreditation agencies that are included in the APQR have the right to accredit foreign educational organizations and educational programmes in cooperation with the APQN.

On November 2019, The Eurasian Centre for Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Health Care (ECAQA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with The The Agency for the Accreditation of Educational Programs and Organizations (AAEPO), the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Memorandum was signed by the Director General Prof. Saule Sarsenbayeva on behalf of the ECAQA and Director, Prof. Baktybek Ismailov by the on behalf of the AAEPO.
The Independent Agency for the Accreditation of Educational Programs and Organizations was established in 2014. Non-profit institution "The Agency for the Accreditation of Educational Programs and Organizations" is a non-profit organization, which has legal status, established to enhance the competitiveness of the professional education of the Kyrgyz Republic through conducting accreditation. The Agency's goal is to provide institutional and program accreditation of educational organizations and to develop methodology, technologies, standards and criteria for the accreditation of educational programs and professional education organizations.
